Our approach to investment emphasises
fundamental value and long-term
investment, geared towards delivering
performance and providing support for
businesses in a responsible manner.
We aim to deliver quality returns for the long run by keeping the risks we take under control and providing support for businesses in a responsible manner. Our approach is based on a reliable tried-and-tested investment philosophy and an in-depth analytical process that is followed by all our fund managers. Our funds invest in businesses that are well run and steeply undervalued, and we manage them without reference to any benchmarks or market trends.
"When it comes to investing, we opted
for a responsible approach
from the outset."
Responsible investment
Non-financial analysis is essential to acquiring in-depth knowledge about a business and forms part of our fundamental approach to investment.
Our commitment to Responsible Investment also aspires to take meaningful action at a time when our economies are undergoing a profound transformation.
We have been engaged in ESG analysis since 2012 and in SRI fund management since 2015. We firmly believe that an analysis of ESG factors is essential to understanding a company's risks and sources of value creation, and thus constitutes a real performance driver.
We set up the Sextant Foundation in 2016 under the auspices of the Fondation de France and with the aim of supporting charitable organisations working in the field of education. We firmly believe that access to high-quality education and appropriate guidance are essential stepping stones towards empowerment and social integration.
Working at Amiral Gestion means taking a step further towards professional fulfilment as you will be joining a group that values engagement and a passion for enterprise.

Summary
Promoting education
Sextant Foundation
We set up the Sextant Foundation in 2016 under the auspices of the Fondation de France and with the aim of supporting charitable organisations working in the field of education. We firmly believe that access to high-quality education and appropriate guidance are essential stepping stones towards empowerment and social integration.
We hope to provide assistance for underprivileged children who may be at a disadvantage due to their local circumstances, economic situation or sociocultural environment, in many cases from a very early age. The Sextant Foundation also aspires to support well-run initiatives managing innovative teaching programmes that are able to bolster our educational system.
Each year we invite our staff members to present charitable organisations working in these fields and select a limited number of them so that we can offer them lasting support.
Espérance Banlieues
Espérance Banlieues hosts around 700 pupils across 17 schools. Its mission has been the same ever since it was set up by Eric Mestrallet in 2012: teach pupils from disadvantaged areas to strive for success, give them access to the kind of high-quality education that only the privileged are usually able to afford, and help them grow up to be empowered and responsible citizens.
What makes Espérance Banlieues so powerful and unique is that is has successfully developed a learning model that caters to underprivileged pupils and their families. The underlying causes of inequality are so varied and so deeply entrenched that teaching solutions need to be tailored accordingly. Espérance Banlieues takes a bold approach that disrupts the traditional educational system and gives each child an opportunity to succeed regardless of their background.
Amiral Gestion has supported this project from the outset. Its involvement includes meeting up with those running the association to monitor progress on ongoing projects.

Fondation Espérance Ruralités
The Fondation Espérance Ruralités was set up in March 2017 with the aim of developing an educational institution model catering to the needs of underprivileged children in rural areas.
The Fondation Espérance Ruralités opened its experimental high school, Cours Clovis, in Fére (Picardy) in September 2017. Fère is a town with a population of 3,000, a youth unemployment rate of around 50% and a school drop-out rate of 35%. The teaching methods developed at Cours Clovis are designed with a dual purpose: build up children's self-esteem and teach them fundamental skills. The number of people working for the foundation increased from 12 in 2017 to 40 in 2019. The Fondation Espérance Ruralités plans to replicate its model by opening a second school in 2021.
Since 2019 Amiral Gestion has provided vital backing for the foundation as it grows, i.e. advisory support (through regular contacts) and financial support, paving the way for a long-term partnership. Find out more
Electeurs en Herbe
Électeurs en Herbe is a non-partisan citizenship education programme that was first set up in Quebec in 2001 and then introduced in France in 2017. It organises educational activities in high schools and youth centres replicating a real election campaign. Its approach is to simulate an election and give young people an opportunity to determine where they stand with respect to a real candidate or list of candidates running in a local or national election.
This simulated election is held following a citizenship education programme spanning several weeks. The programme is based on active teaching methods and split into 5 stages (my democracy, getting informed, my opinion, my vote, getting involved). The programme is therefore, more broadly, a tool to educate the young about the media, about debating skills and about building knowledge. Find out more
Association Coup de Pouce
Association Coup de Pouce was founded in 1984 with the aim of setting each child on an educational pathway to success irrespective of their social or family background. The association has around twenty staff members located throughout France (mainland and overseas) who coordinate partnerships with local authorities and schools to run after-school mentoring clubs. These Coup de Pouce clubs get approximately 8,000 grass-root citizens involved each year in providing guidance for +/- 10,000 children and their parents in more than 200 towns. The Coup de Pouce structure currently runs four programmes:
Coup de Pouce CLA (Language Club) to help children improve their command of the spoken language (4-6 year olds). Coup de Pouce CLÉ (Reading-Writing Club) to help children begin learning how to read and write (6-7 year olds). Coup de Pouce CLI (Book Club) to help children develop a love of books and reading (6-7 year olds). Coup de Pouce CLÉM (Reading-Writing and Mathematics Club) to improve mathematical skills through games (7-8 year olds).
The association officially launched its first programme in 1994. Since then, more than 140,000 children and parents have received support through one of the Coup de Pouce clubs.
